UFC 66 Chuck Liddell vs Tito Ortiz
Cost me 40 bucks. Glad I did it but I won't be doing it again. One time thing. It wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Plus Liddell didn't knock or choke out Tito. Beat him up good but not an obvious win.
Took my Turner to Carlmont on Saturday. Pushed to the top and rode for a short while then was bored so I headed down and wham I am on the ground. Not sure what caused me to slide out but I was glad to be wearing my THE knee pads. As I got to the middle Chris and Dustin were pushing up. Awesome. We rode for awhile in the middle and then went up and rode more up top then back in the middle and bottom again. It was a lot of fun. I finally did that little drop into berm in the middle. That was cool to do because I have always wanted to do it. It was really easy on the Turner. I also rode down that one steep section twice. I would have done it some more but Chris and Dustin were leaving so I left also. Really good day of riding. Oh yeah it was such a beautiful day, sunny but not hot.
Foothill College- Went there with Elizabeth. The weather was pretty crappy compared to yesterdays but it actually was just overcast. Rode down different stairs. I had to go pretty fast down them because of the spacing. We saw a bobcat which was cool and I put a board on a log and we went off that a few times and down this short fast section. It was pretty cool. I also "drove" her 4 runner in the parking lot. I stalled it a few times but feel like I did okay.

I am being edited!
Why write if it might get deleted?
My right thigh hurts. I did some exercises at the apartment gym for a little and then some dude came in so I left and walked over to the Santa Clara City library. Nice library. I got some old school 1991 paris roubaix and tour de france videos and found a dvd I really want to see, road to paris. I now have a simon kitty on my lap.
I jogged back from the library and did some squats, pushups, dips, bicep curls and some crunches. It was pretty tough.
I went to the bank, credit union, aaa, dolphin pet village, rei and i guess thatis all. It was super windy earlier so I didn't do any biking. I had a good day and for some reason was just happy.

Calabazas and ipod
Forgot to write that the city has finally started to build Calabazas. Not sure what they have done, probably just plowed the jumps that are there.
I got some songs onto my ipod so one step closer.

Turner and ipod-one is fun the other a pain
Elizabeth and I went to Carlmont yesterday with only a few whimpers from her. I hadn't ridden my Turner DHR since beginning of August at Kirkwood. I was going to ride it last time we went to Carlmont but the swingarm pivot was loose and to tighten it you have to take off the crankarm and chainguide. I finally got around to it and tightened the bolt and also drilled/filed out a notch that enables me to reach the bolt without taking off the crankarm and chainguide. Anyway we get to Carlmont and the ground is wetter than I expected. Actually now that i think about it only two spots that had puddles but of course one of them was before rocky and bullwinkle. It was more like 3-4 wet mud spots in a row. Not to bad but it would splatter up into my face and onto me. We went to the top and rode up there. There was a puddle in front of Elizabeths jump that she does though. She caught a little bit of air anyways though. I got used to the Turner really quick and was able to jump the first jump then go back up and do two and then go back up and do three. I took a look at the drop where i ate shit a long time ago on my Cheeta. I think I will do it I just need Isaac or Taylor or somebody there to go down it first. I didn't do anything cool but I had fun nonetheless. elizabeth took a long look at some short section and finally went down it. At least she went down it 4 or 5 times. She also went down some long straight section at the bottom that had some 8'' drop that she said ''oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck'' on. She went straight down the section at the very end to the gate without stopping so that was cool.
Then we get home and later on I try and get my ipod to work and get some songs onto it. What a pain in the ass this is. I tried the other night with even lesser success. I ended up just deleting all my songs last night and trying to start over. Yeah that didn't work. So now i have an ipod that has zero songs on it. At least I got the computer to recognize that it has an ipod in it. What a pain. I thought it would be way more easier.
I think I wrote a lot. I have time to write for once since I am using Elizabeths computer and not the one at work during my break.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I finished ERT training today. Good class, worth taking. Kind of stressful taking the class but it was nice and the people in the class were all nice and friendly. Learned (sort of) CPR and building evacuation and blood borne pathogens which is spooky. i got a hard hat and a vest.
Calabazas- first days of the new Calabazas being built just started. Hoping for the best but who knows how it will turn out. I rode it a little bit last week which was fun. I could only jump the first two in the pack but had fun.
It has been really cold the past couple of days. Super cold at night. Wake up to ice covering my windshield and windows. Truck still barely going.
Guess that is all. Simpsons are on. Time for a kiss... i blew it.

I "swam" the other night which actually went much better than I expected. All I did was swim once across and stop and then go again. But i did try freestyle which worked but was really tiring. I will have to try it some more.
I bought a video camera a week or two ago and have already lost it somewhere at UCSC trails I guess. Not sure what happened to it but I know I don't have it because I searched like crazy for it. Oh well, not something worth replacing at least.
Trails at UCSC are really fun. Found a trail with some big wood ladder drop to crappy landing. It might be dead campers, probably is.
My truck is being a pain in the butt to start sometimes which has me worrying.
This is really boring.

I guess i really am an idiot. too many reasons. idiot probably isn't the right word but i don't want to try and think of all the other words to describe myself.
biking news:
rode jump trail on saturday morning and crashed scraping my left wrist area pretty good.
went to mclaren park in sf and watched cyclocross. it was really boring being by myself at first but then i thought what else am i going to do and just tried to enjoy being at a bike race and it worked. i had fun overall. i had my videocamera so it gave me something to do.
just thought i should post today so i know when i screwed up the biggest.

truing the wheel
You were standing over your bike stand today
spinning the back wheel of your cheetah, testing the brakes.
Spin, then tighten.
Spin, then loosen.
Trying to get it just perfect.
You had your sleeve pushed up past your elbow, one hand resting on the brake as you squeezed the brake lever
and I wanted to say to you
right at that moment
I love you.

running and stuff
I ran at the track. did a mile and then did a mile in 8 minutes. 2 miles total. ran by my house for 1.2 miles at most. thought it was more like1.5 though. bummer. ran again the next night and visited jesus twice. a little over a mile.
rode sandhill and tried the triple and packed it good. rode so-so after that. rode livermore after and that was fun.
might do that wildflower mt bike triathlon. 400 12 2
got cheeta back together. super light and fast but rough to ride with only a rear non disc brake. rode jump trail on it which was sketchy as hell.
back to work. break is over. just passing time

"you can be dead and go down that"
Went to Carlmont yesterday on my turner. first time riding it. elizabeth arrived same time as myself and we pushed up the trail to the top and rode the top for awhile. e caught some air a few times. one crappy one and the others all right. improving all the time basically. my bike rides great. doesn't feel weird at all. right when we were about to go down to ride other sections wampler, theo and chris rodriguez showed up so we ended up riding the top some more. what bike you are on makes a big difference. e left to go to work and then we rode more and more. evenutally trying harder stuff to go down. things that i would never do without chris or theo showing the way. looked at this one thing that looked crazy and no way was i going to do it. then we rode some more and i looked at it again. theo and chris already cruised down it like it was absolutely nothing. they were aways away at the bottom but voices carry and wampler was all did you hear that? chris just said you can be dead and go down that to theo. not to us or anything. so then i rode down itand was a bit scared but it turned out to be not so bad. had a great time riding that day. did a lot of new stuff.

Turner DHR
Got a Turner DHR frame and a fork the other day. Just ordered some parts from pricepoint and jenson. seemed easier than trying to get them from planet x.
Went to Carlmont on Sunday and it would be nice to ride that place with a downhill bike.
Wednesday night has become our trail ride day. Usually ride gap.
Going to Tahoe again in 2 weeks which means I will miss the cccx dh race but i am sure tahoe will make up for it.
Went to planetgranite last week which was fun.
also went to jenenes party game nite thing which was cool also.

Went to Ramprats in Petaluma on Wednesday with Mike. Got there and really wasn't into it because there were a bunch of kids already there. really not into it and bumming because i was planning on riding there on wed and thurs. but since we were there we put on our full face helmet, elbows, knee and shins and gloves and got our mt bikes feeling like everyone was watching and they were. talk about intimidating. these kids are so good. rolled over the 5 foot high box jump first and then went back up and jumped it. and jumped it some more and just kept doing that. it was such a relief to be able to ride at least something. the thing that sucked about the box jump was as soon as i landed i would have to grab a handful of brakes and turn on the quarter pipe wallride. i wasn't even getting to the vert whereas these kids would go flying up it and turn around super high. i have never done any ramp riding so it was all foreign to me. they also had a foam pit but to get to it you had to go down this steep roll in. almost vert roll in to hit the jump into the foam pit. we did that a few times and that was hard because i was always afraid of getting hit by some part of my bike when landing. it was so damn hard getting out of the foam too. i am talking a complete pain in the ass. have to use all your muscles to get out. i wacked my ankle on my crankarm which sucked. what else? it was a thousand degrees in there. just sweating like crazy. just soaked. had to keep going outside to cool off. it was only like 90 outside. we got there at noon and stayed until around six.
went to motel 6 in Petaluma and walked over to some mexican food place and got a chicken quesadilla. it was pretty good and i planned to go back again.
Thursday- i am all sore from using all these different muscles from pumping the transitions and stuff. I ended up at some outlet mall which i happened across on the way to ramprats. I had an hour to kill so i got some Vans and a pair of shorts. got to ramprats and rode there and hung out watching from noon til 8. nothing else to do so i just watched these amazing kids ride. i was getting better but I wish i was 16 instead of 36.
one thing i did notice was that people could go hit that foam pit and do superman seat grabs and backflips and stuff and then they would go and hit the box jump and ride like shit.
Ramprats rule. Norcalramprats.com
went back to motel 6 and showered and walked over to the mexican place. they close at 8:30. damn. walk a little ways to a burger king and eat there.
Friday- Still sore. i went to the national championships at infineon raceway. mountain cross course looked decent. the last straight was complete death though. not sure what the course builders were thinking. easy going slow but you aren't going to be going slow into it. no big jumps at all. saw the pros qualify and lopes killed it like usual. watched the ams qualify and also race. fun watching the racing and seeing people.
downhill course- talk about a complete pain in the ass to walk up on the dry grass. slipping and sliding and falling down. easier to ride down the course than to walk down on that damn grass. nothing to exciting on the downhill course but they did have some triples which to hit at full speed you would come really close to the pole. and a few people smacked into that thing pretty good. somebody crashed hard enough to get airlifted out.
pits/expo area- weak! boring boring boring. i rode through there probably 20 times. there was nothing to do or watch. nothing. i would stop by the santa cruz syndicate trailer and talk to theo or taylor and then go cruise around and come back talk and then go ride around some more. some some roadies riding on the racecourse.boring.there was so much of nothing to do. i bought some tires for 24 bucks each which was a pretty good deal.
went back to the mexican place and got a chicken quesadilla and a mexican coke to go. 5 minutes of looking at the refrigerator full of beer i decided i would get one. i paid for it and then a minute later was told i couldn't have it to go so i returned it. i really wanted it too. i have like 2 bottles a year. but the food and coke was good.
Saturday- last day at motel 6 so i had to pack everything up. went to the races again and was told i had to park in lot 3 up the road. so i went up and up the road and didn't see lot 3 but i saw some rv parking and parked there. this sucks because now i am parked up some big ass hill so if i want a coke or water i have to ride up this stupid long hill. i found out later on that lot 3 was at the bottom of the hill. got there at noon and did nothing and was bored crazy.
super d was going to start so i went to watch that. super lame. downhill my ass. all these cross country dudes with their seatposts skyhigh. what i gather is a group of riders go at the same time down a super wussy downhill course that has a whole bunch of uphill and then you draft off the guy on the uphill road section into the finish. the one good thing was all these trek guys with some gay ass red cowboy hats kept saying how they want to see some crashes blah blah blah. and nobody crashed until some trek semi-pro or expert came by and he got super squirrelly and then crashed 20 seconds later. i liked that.
so i was bored. i rode on the racecar/ road bike racecourse and holy crap that thing has some steep uphill on it.rode half of it and that was not too exciting either. the pros are going to practice at 4 for the mountain cross and race at 5. it is only 2. go and watch the downhill. seen it already so i decide to see if i can park in the parking lot that is next to the course and if not then i will just leave and go home. parking volunteer won't let me in even though cars are leaving the lot and there are spaces. whatever. then i see i can go uu this road and get in the back way by the go karts. get stopped up there by some workers. my parking pass isn't good for this lot because this is for go karts. you can pay 5 dollars and park here though. i already paid 10 yesterday and another 10 today. no thanks and i left. drove home thinking this sucks and not in a good mood. hmm. I will be taking 680 home which goes by a bmx track. stop there and ride my cheeta for only like 10 minutes but i get to do some jumps and stuff. i feel so much better. go home happy now.
Tomorrow (Sunday) i will be going to south lake tahoe for some more riding.

non race report at cccx
First off my motel room was the smallest room I have ever had. I think some jackass like myself was dude we could totally put a wall up right here and have another room to rent out. put a toilet here right next to this wall so when you piss you have to stand at an angle and if you take a crap you have to grab the toilet paper with your left hand because your right arm can't move since it is stuck against the wall. We could totally do it. Then we'll make it so when you open the door you don't go into your room but you have to do a left hand turn down a couple of stairs and we'll make the space pretty tight. just tight enough where if someone was really fat they can't get into their room. And to top it off lets get one of those daewoo tvs i saw at walgreens. headboard...dude just nail it into the wall.
After checking out my room we went to cannery row area and walked down that. walking kind of sucks because i get bored so quickly. i came up with what i thought was a brilliant idea of getting a wheelchair and having elizabeth push me. she didn't like that idea though. nice place to walk around at least. we then went to get some food which for me was getting a box of donuts and a quart of milk. i couldn't sleep of course so i started watching independence day and eating donuts with milk. ate like half the box or more and almost all the milk. woke up at 6 to the sound of the jets that would fly right over every 15 minutes. felt kind of crappy from the donuts but i ate some more. really really wanted to just stay in bed until 11. so tired and sleepy. we left at 7:45. got to the race which was pretty low key. 2 porta pottys. easiest way to tell how big a race is by how many porta potties they have. elizabeth signed up and i went to ride the course. i was probably 50/50 into racing then. began to ride the course and it was totally fun. super fast. it had some pretty long road sections which was a bit weird but the dirt was pretty much all single track and super hard pack. like cement hard. a couple of sandy spots but nothing too bad at all. a bit bumpy on my bontrager with its 1 inch of suspension and 1.75 tires at 60 psi. but it was so fun on that singletrack. so fast. wish those trails were closer to home. i want to ride it again. anyway. got back and i was planning on signing up while the beginners raced. went over to see elizabeth at the start and the guy said the beginners were going to do 4 laps. 4 laps for beginners? damn that is going to be 20 miles. i went over to a better spot to watch. elizabeth came by in like 14 out of 15 in the granny gear. i told her to get in the middle ring. she said something back. wait for like 30 minutes until she comes around again and i really don't want to cheer because i feel like an idiot so i do some half assed cheer and she told me to go away. so i left and went to her car and grabbed her seat and proceeded to watch people ride by. it isn't too exciting. pretty much just sat in the chair. oh yeah by now i am not into me racing at all. it was nice just hanging out watching people ride though. i wasn't feeling to great after eating the rest of the donuts minus three that i saved for elizabeth.
The so called beginner class aren't beginners at all. There were some beginners but a lot of people who should totally be racing in sport class. it is a series of races and people who got 1st place or 2nd in the first or second race kept signing up as beginners. i guess i need to start riding longer distances because i would have gotten killed in the sport class.
my lunch is over so that is all.

Day after "running" at Rancho San Antonio and I am sore. shoulders, lower back, thighs, shins. running is just boring. use up all this energy to get in shape i guess but with no reward like a cool downhill or some jumps. so running basically sucks and mt biking rules. went riding at saratoga gap later that day with mike and isaac. isaac started pinning it right from the start. we basically were the mt bikers that everyone hates. hauling ass down the trail and having way too much fun. running how lame. next time we are going to try and do some shuttling so we can get some more downhill riding time. hee hee.

racing at sandhill
Went to Sandhill on Saturday and it was so hot over there. under a hundred but you know it was up there like 95 or so. Got there at 2 and found out race registration is from 3-5 so i just paid 10 bucks to practice and would pay the other 25 later to race. did a few runs on the slalom course and the mountain cross course and saw some guy i saw at shells the other week so i rode with him a little. saw Rich kicking back in the shade under his canopy so i took a seat and tried to cool off. basically i would ride for a few minutes and then sit under the canopy and take off my full face and elbow pads and drink water, gatorade or a coke. then do a few more runs until i get lightheaded and drink some more. wasn't sure if i was going to race or not at 4:30 pm because there weren't very many people there ( ended up being two guys in my class) and it was so hot. i went for another run on the slalom course and after the table/double my chain came off and got completely stuck. didn't crash but came close enough but i smushed my toe pretty good and then after a minute realized i had two cuts on the back of my calf from my pedal. that made the decision for me that i won't be racing. talked to some photographer dude from halfro.com for a bit and then rested in the shade for awhile and watched qualifying and then waited for too long until the races actually started. nothing exciting happened besides some basic crashes. left a little early so i wouldn't have mt bike drivers tailgating me on the way back to livermore since i drive the speed limit. spent the night at motel 6 in livermore and watched some boxing and in the morning watched soccer. yeah nothing at all was on tv. for some reason the weather channel there always shows east coast stuff instead of livermore or even the bay area. fixed my bike in the morning and got the towel with my blood on it all dirty. those motel 6 towels must take off a couple layers of skin they are so rough. damn they suck. went to san ramon bmx track on sunday. met mike there and we rode the track a little. it was super windy and pretty boring. about to leave when i decided to go down the long flight of stairs. super fun. really mellow and fast. so i called mike over and we went down again. and then we would bunny hop and see far down we could go. took some pictures of that too. had more fun on those stairs than on the track. those stairs rule. finally left and drove home. nothing to do at home so i got on my bontrager and cruised for 45 minutes around town going down all these streets i have never been on before or at least not in like 20 years. rode really slow and just enjoyed putting around on my bike. that's it and i am bored anyway.

I had a good reaction to the soda machine being out of coke. This just sucks. I got a damn dr. crappypepper. It took me 2 hours to finish this poison they call a soft drink.

Went to Carnahan's jumps in the middle of nowhere yesterday. Nothing ridable but full of potential. Several jumps being built but nothing done. Opposite of how I would build it. But it isn't my land. Rode a kona cyclocross bike. found out i ride a 52 and I don't want road bars on my bike. I am so bored. bored enough to be writing in this thing. 3 and half hours more. Been so sleepy lately. past week i guess. i am boring myself more so that is all.
